What we hoped would be a series of weekly tounaments of Overwatch goodness, will have to go on a hiatus starting next week. Blizzard decided they want to close down the Beta for at least the next 30 days, but before they do we can end with our most stacked tournament yet!
Last week, when we began our Weekly Overwatch tournaments on both the EU and NA servers, we witnessed the potential of the competitive scene. Teams showed that they are putting in the hours to figure out the metagame as well as their teamplay. And so we were excited with our plans to keep running these tournaments every Saturday and Sunday for weeks to come. But then we all got surprised with Blizzard's plan to shut down the servers until at least mid January. We were of course a bit disappointed with that, but also understand that the developers can use that time to add major systems to the game like ranked play and progression.
But we still have one tournament planned, which will kick off today at 15:00 EST/21:00 CET! The best NA teams, and some daring EU teams, will be competing in our 16-team Single Elimination bracket for the $120 USD first prize. All matches will be Bo3's up until the Bo5 Grand Finals. We are ending the pre-break season with a bang however, as all four of the top teams on our rankings have signed up: Hubris, NotEnigma and Fnatic from the US will for the first time be joined by EU powerhouse Melty eSports to give us another reason to talk about what region is currently the best.

- Twitch.TV/AskJoshy is the secondary English channel, and AskJoshy himself will cast alongside DiscipleGames.
