After the success of our first EU Weekly Tournament (spoilers), we filled the North American bracket with sixteen eager Overwatch teams in less than twenty-four hours. Established teams such as NotEnigma and Hubris were early favorites, but some lesser known teams and players definitely made a name for themselves throughout the tournament.
NotEnigma and Hubris faced off in the first round, as brackets were determined at random for the first of our weekly tournament. Future tournaments will be seeded by our GosuGamers rankings. Even though the matchup which everyone predicted would be the finals took place in the first round, the games between NotEnigma and Hubris were everything we expected, with Hubris taking a tight series two to one.
Team False Reality made waves with an ultra-aggressive style featuring the phenomenal play of Soupbase on Genji. They rode their momentum to the finals against Team Hubris. However, Hubris had the advantage and played a rock solid set of final maps to defeat team False Reality, earning them $120 dollars and title of first GosuGamer's NA Weekly Tournament champions.
