New Hero Ability Overview: Mei

Velma from Scooby-Doo visited the Artic and came back with all sorts of weapons.

Winter is coming, and Mei could not be any happier.  This white-walker features a kit which will turn the opposing team to ice. Why stun the enemy when you can simply slow them, and slow them, and freeze them, untl their very notions of time and movement become illusions?  Oh, and if you somehow manage to escape the reach of Mei's numbing blast, she'll just put a wall in front of you.  Sure, Junkrat and Roadhog are scary looking, but Mei is the Hero of which nightmares are made.

Going somewhere?  Thought not.

Abilities

Endothermic Blaster: Ice-Thrower which slows and damages to enemies in close range from a 200 clip.

Icicle: Fires a projectile icicle for 50/200, does what appears to be 100+ damage in a medium range.

Cryofreeze: Mei becomes invulnerbale healing herself for appoximately 150 health over 4 seconds.

Ice Wall: Creates a destructable wall which can used to block enemies or move teammates to highground.

Blizzard: After a short delay, a projectile chills and damages all enemies within a small area.

Role: Defense

Mei's kit has a limited range, best served in protecting chokes and small rooms.  Her Cryofreeze grants her remarkable sustain, allowing her to protect a single by herself.  In addition, she has the ability to 1v1 low hp heroes, making her an ideal choice against a Tracer, or even a McCree.  Make no mistake, this parka is packing some power.  However, she thrives with the assistance of other heroes, making her a vital secondary support.

Composition

The range of Mei's kit means she compliments nearly every hero, without necessarily needing any specific hero to help her play effectively.  What you want to avoid with Mei is counter synergies, or Heroes with abilities too similar to hers. Because of her Ultimate ability, Blizzard, pairing Mei with a Zarya is lockdown overkill and rather underwhelming damage wise. However, her Ultimate, much like Zarya's Graviton Pulse, is one of the most powerful crowd controls in the game, and combos extremely well with high AOE damage.  Mei's wall shift ability allows her to quickly change the battlefield to get into position for an ultimate, followed by a Pulse Bomb or Deathbloom, or even standard Helix or Falcon rockets, this combination could be deadly.
