[s]event_223[/s]

Just recently the Italian World Cyber Games were held in Italy Autodromo, Italy. Over the course of two explosive days of gaming a winner finally emerged victorious.

But if you have kept up with the news lately, you would know who won the Italian World Cyber Games already. Italy SoL.Eagle defeated Italy fanatiC.Cloud in the finals of the Italian WCG. Both players along with Italy JK)Botanic will be going to the Grand Finals in Italy Monza, Italy.

After SoL.Eagle won the event, I took advantage of the age we live in and contacted him over MSN. I than proceeded to ask him a couple of questions about the whole WCG experience.

United States GpaiS:
To start off, could we have your name, age, and where you live?

Italy SoL.Eagle:
Ok Maurizio Carioti, 23 and I live in Trieste, Italy.

Nice to meet you Maurizio. Um next what is your race of choice, and why do you play that race?

I am Terran user, and I like this race because it needs micro and speed. And indeed with Terran you can use so much different strategies; you can use more your fantasy. For other races it's too much important the macro, and indeed it's not my best in the game.

Well that’s fine; we all have our little faults. So recently you won the World Cyber Games in Italy, beating fanatiC.Cloud in the finals. What was the whole Italian WCG experience like?

Well, it was a great experience, even because fanatiC.Cloud is a very good player and I am proud of beating him without so much training; but I’m sure he will continue make great things. Anyway LANs are always a very good way to train and to play better, they are very important. And indeed you can have a lot of fun.

Was this your first WCG experience? Have you been to past WCG events?

Well I tried the WCG qualification 3 years ago, but I finished between first 8 peoples, so I didn't qualify. I had to skip the last 2 years because I study medicine in the university and I had to skip the events for make some exams.

Did you expect to do as well as you did in this years WCG? Was it easy for you to win the event?

Well, indeed I couldn't train very much before the qualification, but I played some and I saw that my skill was not so bad, so I decided to try, and I didn’t find so much problems in the competition. Indeed the challenge with fanatiC.Cloud was the hardest part, even if the games was quite fast and based on push & rush.

When you played fanatiC.Cloud in the finals how did you feel? What was your first thought when you won the event?

Well, I was already very happy, because I knew that I had my slot for the WCG, but the idea of beating fanatiC.Cloud was great, even because he was so sure of win the competition. This made me 2 times happy. And all the concentration at the end became adrenaline and I just screamed after the win and I went to my SoL friends (especially SoL.Rain) to make some confusion. There was a lot of enthusiasm.

What do you expect out of the WCG Grand Finals in Monza? I mean do you expect to win your group or how do you see yourself doing in the Grand Finals?

Indeed my target will be win my group, and I will train hard this summer for make this thing possible. When I was much trained I already have good game results, so I think it is a possible thing. It would already be a very great result for an Italian player. Doing more then this will be very hard, but if it comes, it would be a dream.

Will the results of the Grand Final this year effect your decision to play in next years WCG, which will be held in Seattle?

Of course, this great result gave me more reason to play and to train hard, now my target it will be become much stronger and if I will have some good results, I will continue on this road.

Well I do hope the best to you, and good luck in Monza. Is there anything else you might want to add?

Yes, I want to thanks you for this interview. And I want to thanks to my girlfriend Ewa (SoL.Effka) that let me go and believed in me, and all the Italian BW community, especially SoL.Rain, PlayHidrO, SoL.RauDo and I love u all other guys. I want to thanks much Voya for all his support in these years!

Thank you too very much

Bye GpaiS and thanks. See you soon.
