Top 5 News article polls

"Did you enjoy seeing the Reaper and Ana combos from the first two days of competition?"

|A| 76%  24% |B|

A: Loved it | B: Not a fan

Overwatch Open started at the end of September, and with it a new meta emerged: The Nano boosted Reaper. The article covered some of the things that happened during the first two days of the tournament, but the poll focused on the new nano-trend. The voters seem to like the nano-copter, but maybe they won’t like facing it in game…

"Do you think Eichenwalde will see more competitive play in the future?"

|A| 90%  10% |B|

A: Yes, it’s so interesting! | B: No, it’s too messy

Eichenwalde made its competitive debut in one of GosuGamers’ weeklies for September. The audience loved seeing this new map in action, and there were plenty of memorable moments to take away from this one game alone. The poll focused on the future of Eichenwalde in competitive play. People have raised the issue before, that the map might be too messy for tournament play with its many nooks and flanking opportunities. But according to the poll, people wants more German castles!

"Which region do you think will win?" (APAC Premier)

EU & NA 78%  22% Asia

APAC Premier, the prestigious Chinese tournament announced their invited Western teams in the middle of September. Rogue from Europe and NRG from North America were the teams that got invited to go head to head with Asia’s finest. The tournament, that started a few days ago, will have an European/American winner. At least if our voters are right.

"Which region will win the World Cup?"

|A| 73%  27% |B|

A: Europe | B: Another region

This article took a look at the European qualifier groups for the World Cup, and predicted winners from each of the groups. It also stated that the European region looks to be the most competitive qualifier. According to the polls, the users also seem to see the European region as the favorite. Blizzcon, with the Overwatch World Cup, will be held in November.

"Do you think some of the free agents will find a home on a top roster soon?"

|A| 73%  27% |B|

A: Sure, they're talented | B: Not yet, top teams are stable

One of the North American top teams OWKings disbanded in September, with all of their players becoming free agents. The team that consisted of players like ryb and clown, looked very promising in the early days of Overwatch. But after many substitutions and not managing to deliver a solid performance in the Overwatch Open’s European qualifiers, the team decided to part ways. Some of the players are still to this day free agents.

Top 5 Feature article polls

"Is Fnatic a top 2 North American team?"

|A| 89%  11% |B|

A: For sure | B: Not yet

Cloud 9 is, and has been for quite some time, the second best team in North America. But after the recent big tournaments like the Overwatch Open, the question can be asked if that’s really true. Even though the rankings state one thing, the general feeling is that Fnatic is not close behind. (Some might even argue they are way ahead at this point. Especially with C9 recently doing massive roster changes.) According to the hearts and minds of the 156 people voting in this poll, Fnatic HAS taken the spot as second best in North America.

"Do you want daily and/or weekly quests in Overwatch?"

Yes 53%  47% No

GosuGamers did a group editorial where we discussed daily quests in Overwatch. Is this something that is wanted? Needed? Necessary? Five crew members gave their thoughts on this subject. Some talked about their previous experience with daily/weekly quests, and came up with ideas on how this could work in Overwatch. The poll was as split as the crew members’ thoughts. Almost 50/50 is an indication that no matter what Blizzard does (or doesn’t do) regarding this, people won’t be too sad.

"Do you think coaches need to be ex-professional players in Overwatch?"

|A| 85%  15% |B|

A: Specialist coaches will be as useful | B: Only ex-players have enough knowledge

In this article in the series “Up for Debate”, Sideshow talked about coaches in Overwatch. Coaches in other games, like LoL and CS:GO, are as important part of a team like any player. So how does a coach’s role in Overwatch work? What do a coach actually do? The poll asked more specifically if the coaches needs to be ex-players or not. Most of the people that answered thought that no, it’s not necessary.

"Do you want Blizzard to organize a tournament/league of their own?"

|A| 90%  10% |B|

A: Yes, please! | B: No, I'm happy with outside organizers

After Blizzard announced that their Overwatch tournament at Blizzcon would be a World Cup, and not a pro team tournament of some sort, some people were… Well, disappointed. According to this poll, an overwhelming amount of people actually want Blizzard to invest a bit more in Overwatch eSports. We will probably not see anything just yet though, since Blizzcon is right around the corner. We will however, be able to enjoy some world class Overwatch outside of Blizzard's name, with many great tournaments coming up.

"Do you think Rogue will repeat their feat at the Overwatch Open?"

Yes 17%  83% No

Overwatch Open was a great story for the month of September. Many still remembered the Atlantic Showdown, where Rogue surprisingly (?) became victorious after beating favorites EnVyUs. For Overwatch Open the question was if Rogue could repeat their previous feat. According to the poll, people weren’t as supportive of the thought of the European team winning one more LAN. Spoiler alert: They didn’t.
