It would be an understatement to say that RIOT had a difficult weekend, but after most of the dust settled, VP of Esports Redbeard took to the League of Legends forum to talk about the cheating accusations. "We’ve spent today investigating and reviewing the problems," he said, "the potential visibility of minimap screens for players was a mistake... "we’re taking steps to ensure the minimap screens are not visible to players."
Those are important steps, but what about the teams that were accused in the first place? Redbeard went into specific details on each individual case:
TSM vs Azubu Frost
- Azubu Frost had microphone issues, which is why the game was paused.
- Both teams shifted bodies towards the mini maps, warnings were given to both teams.
- No other incidents during the match were seen.
World Elite vs Counter Logic Gaming Europe
- One player from WE was not facing forward during a game.
- They're looking through the footage but it's not currently seen as a mini map peek.
As for the incomplete game between CLG EU and World Elite, the date and time of the third game remake is still yet to be decided but RIOT "are aiming for Wednesday," according to Redbeard.
