Curse 2-0's Fnatic to win EmpireTV Challenge

EmpireTV came to a fairly uneventful end, with Curse picking up the one game that they needed for victory.

The EmpireTV Challenge was unusual in many ways, not least of which was the fact that Curse EU won. After two teams dropped out on the opening day, it looked like Fnatic and Moscow Five should have an easy route to the final. But those two teams also had to shuffle their teams considerably and with M5 playing somewhat less than seriously, Curse reached the final without dropping a game.

Fnatic were also able to defeat M5 at the second time of asking, and moved into the final which began last night but ended this evening with a 1-0 lead for Curse. There was always the chance that it would turn into a disappointing final game due to the strange nature of the two-day final. That was how it turned out in the end, with Curse winning the second game in very one-sided fashion. Fnatic hardly seemed to be trying, but Curse had to beat what was in front of them and did so very convincingly.

The win ended a mediocre run for the team. Even though the tournament turned out to be less exciting than anticipated, a perfect record in an event with Fnatic and M5 still looks good, regardless of the circumstances.
