Double Vision and Double Trouble At PokerStars

PokerStars is the poker home for two pieces of news today. The first has PokerStars offering two Sunday Million and Sunday Warm Up tournaments this coming Sunday as part of their Double Vision promotion. The tournaments will start 30 minutes after the original in doubling your Sunday tournament opportunities. The two Sunday Million events will have guarantees of $1 million, while the two Sunday Warm-up events will have guarantees of $500,000.

The second story to relate is a sad one. A Russian player with the username I7AXA had a tremendous run in last Sunday's PokerStars Sunday Millions tournament. He came in second for his biggest score ever of around $143,000. Instead of reveling in his victory and massive win, he chose to step up and play some of the biggest games immediately with his new large bankroll.

He started playing $5k Sit n' Goes, losing a lot of them, as he lost more and more he moved down in limits, going all the way down to $30 SNG's, then $7 SNG's and eventually using Frequent Players Points after he had lost it all within 24 hours.

The picture of his results graph above shows the tremendous upswing from his victory and his resulting calamitous losses as he kept playing and losing his new found winnings.

Some players just don't know when to quit. Bankroll management is so important to a player's success.
