HoN in NASL Season 2 with $40,000 in prizes

The North American Star League and S2 Games have announced a $40,000 Heroes of Newerth competition as part of NASL Season 2.

NASL Season 1 featured 50 professional StarCraft II players competing for $100,000, concluding in a live grand finals event in Ontario, California. At the event, S2 Games' announced a partnership with NASL, and now Heroes of Newerth has become the second the NASL title as part of its second season.

Although the league's name indicates its North American origins, the NASL is home to global competition. Eight international HoN teams have been invited to participate in the event, which begins on October 5th. The action kicks off with a series of showmatches from October 5th to 8th, each with a $1,000 prize.

The tournament then proceeds in round-robin format, where the teams will face each other team once to determine the top four that will advance to the playoffs. Those teams will fly to Southern California to compete at the LAN finals from December 2nd to 4th.

Broadcasting will be provided with the help of Nick "BreakyCPK" Caras, Phil "The_Thrill" Haller, and other guest casters. NASL's low-quality live stream is free, and HD season passes, which give access to the commercial-free, 1080p stream and VODs, can be purchased for $25 at (or weekly passes for $5, coming soon).
