IEST: Stage 1 Completed

Action packed Stage 1 revealed some surprising results. Top contenders Sky and ToD clear their groups by taking first place. Other great matches followed where the Orc legend Grubby and Swedish elf SaSe had to face an early exit , joining them would also be the Russian Human player Xyligan and the rising Chinese human player Infi.

It was a pretty clear run for WCG Silver medalist WE.Sky to take down both Sase and Zeus in convincing victories and thus place himself first in his group. The fight to see who would join him was then between the Croatian and the Swede, the only similarity being the race that they play. Zeus, who is always remarkable on Lan went to win this 2:1 to take the second spot.

Group B had a rather remarkable upset with the rising Chinese elf player Sai take down the Orc maestro Grubby in a clean sweet of 2:0, while he lost against SoJu, unless the Dutch Orc could have come up with a flawless victory against the Korean elf player, chances of him passing to the next stage seemed pretty slim. This turned out to be true as SoJu went on to beat him, thus taking him out of the tournament.

Group C showed us whose HoT and whose not. SK.HoT taking revenge for his WCG match against Moon was a pleasant surprise to many. A match which ended in a 2:1 favour for the Ukraine player. However Moon took down the Chinese human player Infi, who seemed pretty tight during the group play of the tournament. HoT later on went to take down Infi 2:0 to secure the top spot in the tournament.

Group D pitting former team mates against each other, however has a clear winner in the French Human player ToD. Xyligan fought a brave match but goes down to both FoV and ToD thus exiting the group. This gives a breather to the only Undead in the tournament, FoV.
