Elements Pro Gaming have officially dropped their entire Dota 2 squad after a rocky few weeks leading up to the TI7 qualifiers.
EPG squad was one of the teams rumored to be on the short list of regional invites gearing up for the TI7 qualifier run. And then it happened. The team quickly started to fall apart at the seams starting May 31st when the organization and squad bid farewell to their carry and mid-lane players - Uroš 'Swiftending' Gali? and Jure 'Pingvincek' Plešej respectively.
A long string of sub-par and fruitless results had finally given way to the dreadful changes post roster lock, thrusting the team into the open qualifier fray. The squad scurried around to find two replacements but quickly then found themselves needing a third when Gordan ‘g0g1’ Proschic took his leave only two days later.
Duško ‘Boranija’ Boranijaševic and well known players in Ilya ‘Illidan’ Pivtsaev and Roman ‘rmN-‘ Paley were brought on board as the official roster to don the EPG logo and jerseys for the open qualifiers. They then became one of the teams to be wary of heading into the stacked open qualifiers. But, as fate would have it, the team was never able to advance as far as they hoped, never even seeing the finals or seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Instead, darkness swallowed them, snuffing out their TI dreams.
Before the dust had settled within the regional qualifiers, EPG already moved forward with dismantling their roster and promising to rebuild it even stronger later.
Ahead of the curve, the players will still have much time to re-sort themselves out in their future plans, as the organization will also have ample time to rebuild a new roster once the inevitable reshuffle hits.
The Elements Pro Gaming roster at time of disband:
Ilya ‘Illidan’ Pivtsaev
Duško ‘Boranija’ Boranijaševic
Damir ‘Mitch’ Skaricic
Nikola ‘LeBronDota’ Popovic
Roman ‘rmN-‘ Paley
