Impervious and Street Magic win G-League pre-qualifiers

The worldwide pre-qualifiers have ended for the G-League organised by GameFY. Team Impervious and Street Magic have qualified for the qualifiers.

Street Magic will now face Fnatic in the Qualifiers, while Team Impervious will face Speed Gaming in round 1 of the qualifiers.

It is rather odd to see GameFy's decision to place a South East Asian team among seven other European/North American teams since lag issues will definitely come into play. When prompted on the issue, GameFy replied, "We will do a couple of test runs on different servers to determine which server is the best for everybody. They will play on a server where both teams have a disadvantage in ping."

The top two teams of the qualifiers will win an all-expenses paid trip to China to participate in the LAN groups tage, where they will be joined by eight Chinese teams. Of these eight teams, iG and LGD.int have been granted direct invitations to the groupstage as winners and runners-up respectively of the previous iteration of the tournament.

In the meantime, the Chinese qualifiers are ongoing, and the brackets can be found here. The winners of each of the six brackets will proceed directly into the Group stage.

G-League 2013 will feature 270,000 RMB (~$44,000) in cash prize. Prize distribution is as below:

1. 200,000 RMB (~$33,000)
2. 50,000 RMB (~$8,200)
3-4. 10,000 RMB (~$1,600)
