ESWC ends with Empire taking home the victory

With both teams having a 5-0 streak in the playoffs, Empire manages to sweep EG to grab first place in the Winner's bracket finals of ESWC 2013.

It has been quite a smooth ride for both the American and the Russian squad. Both teams were able to finish the on top of their opponents, coming out with no losses to their name.

Continuing their undefeated streak in the playoffs, both teams fought their way through without a hitch and eventually ran into each other in the Winner's Bracket Finals. However, only one team could emerge victorious and the russian squad led by Scandal has proven to be the stronger.

Empire, a team that was faced with constant roster shuffles throughout the year, had beaten the odds and has shown general stability in terms of tournament placings. In September alone, despite the exit of blowyourbrain, they have been maintaining placings within the Top 3 -something not a lot of teams can brag about considering Empire has never had a roster for more than a few months. In the second game of the ESWC grand finals, they were able to secure VANSKOR his signature Rubick and score the final victory

Not forgetting the runner up, Evil Geniuses, who managed to overcome every other team (in somewhat convincing fashion) to meet Team Empire at the finals. EG has faced some serious performance issues the past few months especially after they dropped their longtime player DeMoN who actually managed to beat them with his then team Take5. EG has not seen a victory for a relatively long time now and it was not much of a surprise to the community when Team Empire were able to beat them 2-0 during the grand finals, as seen by the 32% of Gosubets placed on EG while Empire led by an additional 34%.

1st place: RussiaTeam Empire ($12,500)
2nd place: United States Evil Geniuses ($7,500)
3rd place: EuropeSigma.Int ($5,000)
