EG's Revival exits his Challenger League group as second and earns the needed WCS points to make the tie-breakers for the top 16 Blizzcon cut off. Revival will play Naniwa in the Blizzard headquarters before the main event.
Group A offered little surprises as to how it turned out. Flawless in his play, Liquid's Taeja overcame JonSnow and Revival 2-0 and took first place in the group. EG's Zerg came second after a 2-0 against the American in the deciding match-up and secured a Blizzcon tie-breaker spot for himself. The outcome of said tie-breaker against Alliance's Naniwa will determine the 16th player in the World Finals bracket who is to be Soulkey's opponent in the first round.
Group B saw another Team Liquid triumph. Although having to play both Koreans in his group, Norwegian Zerg Snute powered through with an aggregate 4-1 and joined his team-mate Taeja out of Challenger. Second in the group finished Complexity's TheSTC who 2-0'd Axiom's Ryung in the fifth match.
WCS America's Challenger League continues tonight with two more groups. Group C with Drunkenboi, Tassadar and Vibe starts at 15:00 PDT (00:00 CET) with Group D featuring NesTea, State, Neeb and Goswser following four hours later.
