Despite the popularity of the NA LCS, the region has struggled in the World Championship. North America's highest finish at Worlds was Team SoloMid's third place finish in Season 1, which was prior to the opening of the game's Korean server.
Since the establishment of the LCS in 2013, no NA team has ever made it past the quarterfinals.
