G2 pull off three-game win against SPY; UOL take the reverse sweep against FNC (W7D2)

G2 Esports vs. Splyce

Splyce were reminded the hard way that beating G2 in one game doesn't mean you can beat them in the next. After losing game 1, G2 adjusted their playstyle and came back strong in the subsequent games, beating Splyce handily in lane and transitioning to solid midgame fights. Though Splyce attempted to throw G2 off with a weird on-hit Kennen pick in game 3, the defending European champions were undeterred and able to finish off the challengers.

Trick failed to get anything going for G2 in game 1, but picked up the slack throughout the rest of the series. Three games on Graves yielded a 9/4/12 KDA , and he was able to secure all but one of the eleven drakes that spawned. Zven also turned it on in the back half of the series - he died three times on Jhin in game 1, but went deathless throughout the rest of the series while scoring 12 kills and 13 assists.

Fnatic vs. Unicorns of Love

Despite the differences in their records, the series between Fnatic and the Unicorns of Love was incredibly close. Fnatic managed to come out of game 1 on top, but the Unicorns were able to get the better of them in game 2 with a well-played fight near drake. Game 3 was in Fnatic's hands for a majority of the game, but a questionable Baron decision led to Xerxe stealing the buff away. From there, it all went downhill for Fnatic - the Unicorns were able to use Baron to pick up tower after tower, breaking Fnatic's infrastructure and ending the game in short order.

The Baron steal was just part of Xerxe's excellent series. He went deathless in game 3 on Ivern and snagged three early kills in game 2 on Rengar, catapulting the Unicorns to an early lead. Visicsacsi also deserves praise for his excellent Renekton in game 3 - he went 9/4/4 and absolutely terrorized Fnatic's topside.
