CLG stay strong to take down IMT; NV pick up a much-needed win against FOX

Counter Logic Gaming vs. Immortals

Immortals looked better today than they have in a long time, but still couldn't find a victory against Counter Logic Gaming. CLG  outplayed IMT in all three games of the series, and it was only a crucial Baron and a miraculous teamfight in game 2 that allowed Immortals to take even one match.

Despite the calls for Aphromoo to play more aggressive, playmaking supports, he posted some excellent numbers on Soraka and Nami today. The Starchild flex pick gave CLG the advantage in game 1 and crucial pick potential in game 3, showing that Aphro is quite comfortable on enchanters. Huhi was another star for CLG, carrying game 1 on the back of his Jayce and providing excellent roaming support with Aurelion Sol in game 3.

Without their ability to simply win lane, as they have in the past, Immortals look out of sorts. Game 2 was a narrow win on the back of some risky plays, but when they fall behind, IMT just can't find a way back in.

Team Liquid vs. Team Dignitas

The series started so well for Team Liquid, with a dominant early game that transitioned into a mounting gold lead that Dignitas couldn't recover from. However, the next two games fell out of their grasp as Dignitas adapted, resulting in yet another win for DIG.

Ssumday somehow secured Camille in all three games, and made TL regret it. Hookshots and Hextech Ultimatum kept him on the backline and dealing damage, especially in game 3 where his timely arrival secured a crucial teamfight for Dignitas. LOD also posted great numbers on Jhin, with a 14/3/22 KDA in three games.

Team EnVy vs. Echo Fox

Just when we were about to give up hope for Team EnVy, they prove that they're not quite out yet. An impressive 2-0 sweep of Echo Fox goes to show that NV still has some life left, and certainly gives their fans hope for a comeback.

NV played their midgames well today, finding objective trades and making smart rotations instead of wandering aimlessly around the map. Smart picks led to Barons, and Barons led ultimately to gold leads and critical damage to FOX's infrastructure. Akaadian didn't look nearly as good as he has previously - a 1/6/0 performance on Kha'Zix in the final game is quite unlike him, and may be worrisome for FOX's future prospects.

Hakuho finally proved that his team could win without his Zyra in this series, playing an impressive Morgana and Malzahar and picking up a 2/3/19 KDA through the series. The success of Hakuho meant that Apollo also had an excellent series - and while his KDA wasn't super impressive at 2/0/17, he dealt almost 40k damage to enemy champions on Varus.
