DIG hands FLY yet another loss; P1 puts down NV in two games

Team Dignitas vs. FlyQuest

If there's only one series you watch today, check this one out. Dignitas and FlyQuest never stopped trading blows with each other from the start of champ select and put on a massively entertaining show. In the end though, it was Dignitas who took a 2-0 win over FlyQuest thanks to superior teamfighting and a few clutch plays by Chaser.

DIG's jungler was the star of the series by far. Game 1 saw him secure a First Blood double kill onto Hai and Moon, while Game 2 featured an amazing Baron steal that turned the tide of the game.  The early aggression Chaser was able to put down stopped FLY from gaining their usual early lead, giving Dignitas a chance to scale up themselves. Of course, Keane deserves just as much credit - his Zed was a crucial component of DIG's teamfighting and helped them keep up with FLY.

Despite their usual successes, Hai and Moon just weren't quite as solid as they've been in the past. Hai's Jarvan IV was an interesting pick and proved to be somewhat effective into Keane's Zed, but ultimately the FlyQuest squad weren't able to translate small gains into larger advantages.

Team EnVy vs. Phoenix1

With Inori gone from P1's roster and an out-of-practice Meteos taking his place, this was Team EnVy's game to win. However, P1 managed to hold together through a grindy game 1 and found their rhythm, eventually taking home the series after two games.

It's been a long time since Meteos has played for an LCS team, and boy did it show. C9's former jungler seemed out of place on Kha'Zix in game 1 and did basically nothing for his team except secure drakes, though he did manage to pick up a miracle Baron steal late in the game to help propel P1 to victory. He looked slightly better on Elise in game 2, but still made sloppy plays that betrayed his lack of practice. Inori will be sorely missed throughout the rest of this week by P1 fans.

Despite their relatively weak game 1, Phoenix1 managed to come back fairly well in game 2. Making the call to go for a 23-minute Baron was a risky play, but it payed off for P1 and they translated the Baron into kills and pressure all across the map. NV fans meanwhile have to be concerned for their team - if Team EnVy can't even beat an out-of-sorts P1, their odds of avoiding relegation aren't great.
