LoL News Week in Review: July 17th

Faker gets his 1000th kill, Kikis is transferred to Fnatic and Forg1ven returns to H2k in this week's news.?

Faker gets his 1000th kill

Faker’s 1000th kill took place on July 11th, 2016, in a game vs MVP. His, now infamous, victim was Beyond. OGN posted a montage on their official YouTube channel. There are various clips from Faker’s career, starting with his first kill, in LCK, on CJ Blaze’s Ambition.

Kikis is transferred to Fnatic from G2

On July 11th, Fnatic posted several roster changes on their official site. First, Yeong-Jin “Gamsu” Noh stepped down after coming to a mutual decision with Fnatic’s staff. Next, it was announced that Mateusz “Kikis” Szkudlarek was joining the team and substitute Jorge “Werlyb” Casanovas. Kikis had previously played for H2K, but was let go earlier in the split. He and Werlyb would now rotate as Fnatic’s top laner.

Forg1ven returns to H2k

H2K revealed in a video, on their YouTube channel, that Forg1ven would be returning to the team.

On H2K’s Facebook page they elaborated on this decision. Forg1ven returned to the team as an ADC sub for Aleš "Freeze" Kn?žínek. Freeze had recently suffered a hand injury. In the event that Freeze wasn’t able to perform, H2K only felt comfortable with Forg1ven as the sub capable of performing at the level they expect of their players and team.

Origen staff rumours

Earlier in the week, rumours and tweets began to surface that suggested many members of Origen’s staff quit out of dissatisfaction with the team’s lack of communication. It seemed that the key issues were payment problems and the mismanagement of the team as a whole. Even the General Manager of the team quit: https://gyazo.com/34a2c1ed9a05cc66b426809a0e1e81d7

But earlier today, Origin made an official press release in hopes of clarifying the situation: https://origen.gg/2016/07/clarification-of-the-rumors-of-origen-staff/

In their statement, they made it clear that no contracted individuals had resigned or been let go. The people that had been posting online about their departure from Origen were individuals who had not been legally contracted to Origen nor had they been promised any monetary payment. They had been collaborating with Origen voluntarily.
