The ex-Jungler for Team Dignitas and LA Renegades will step back into a coaching role in the Challenger Series.

After five and a half years of competitive play in the top lane, mid lane and jungle, Alberto “Crumbz” Rengifo announced his retirement from professional play. As cited through his Twitter account, he will not be returning to League of Legends. There was, however, an announcement for his plans in the near future.

The action to step down follows a disappointing 6-13 run in the 2016 Spring Split with Renegades. He spent the vast majority of the regular season in the basement of the North American LCS in the KDA department, ammassing only a 2.06 ratio, though he did see some success later in the season after some roster moves that helped facilitate his playstyle. Crumbz's professional career extends back to Season 1, and in that time has not achieved much playoff or tournament success. With Dignitas, Crumbz won IPL Elites NA 2012 and the Solomid NA Invitational 5.

Crumbz has spent time on the LCS analyst desk in seasons three and five, and has shown expertise and deep knowledge of the competitive scene. As a natural progression, Crumbz announced that he'll be joining Apex Challenger as head coach. This is alongside his youtube project aimed at helping low level players improve their overall gameplay. Crumbzz giving his expertise on the game a chance, even stating in his video that he's better known for teaching players how to play the game over playing it himself.
