With support tryouts officially ending, the North American squad has finalized their Summer 2016 roster with some fresh talent. But was it the right move?
After a three-week bootcamp in Korea and trying out multiple candidates, Team SoloMid have announced that they have officially made the decision to go with Vincent "Biofrost" Wang. For those unfamiliar with Biofrost, he has had a storied career within the Challenger scene in North America. Playing for teams ranging from Frostbite to Vortex to, most recently, Dream Team, this will be his debut in the LCS scene.
TSM decided to bring Biofrost with them to Korea after a successful preliminary tryout in North America. Originally planning on using him during scrims when the other candidates were unavailable, the team was impressed by his growth and potential as a player, as well as his natural synergy with Yiliang "Doublelift" Peng. The team's goal of having a fully English speaking roster sealed the deal.
With the team hoping to improve upon their Finals finish last split, TSM will look to their new support as well as their time in Korea to translate towards a return to the top of North America.
