Froggen claims CS world record

A new all time League of Legends world record has been set by none other than Henrik “Froggen” Hansen. Known for his amazing farming skills, Froggen has given North America the title of highest creep score ever gained in a professional LoL match at 764.

Week 8 of the North American League Championship Series was a ‘clown fiesta’ if ever there was one. A number of insane upsets, new playstyles, and incredibly close games with climactic endings happened during these past two days. One game that made history, surprisingly enough, was a rematch between two of the lower bracket teams: Echo Fox and Dignitas.

In a game standing over 67 minutes long, one of the longest games seen this split, Froggen of FOX broke a world record. Knowing Froggen, famous for his farm-heavy playstyle, it is no surprise that said record happened to be the world CS record. Froggen ended the game with 874 CS, but was adjusted down to 764 CS after discounting any CS gained for chained Gangplank barrels. This record crushes the previous world record, formerly held by Shin “CoCo” Jin-yeong at 723 during game 1 of a series between CJ Entus and Jin Air Green Wings last year.

Not only did Froggen break a world record, but FOX won a very important game with this victory. By the end of Week 8, FOX sits at a record of 6-10 at 7th place, leaving them desperately fighting to gain a spot in the NA LCS playoffs to secure the Spring Championship at the end of the split. Unfortunately for DIG, their double throws this weekend leaves them at 4-12 at 9th place, likely to see relegations. Be sure to watch the final week of the regular LCS this weekend to see if FOX can keep themselves in this competition, or if they will succumb to defeat.
