Week 4 will definitely prove to us whether or not Immortals has what it takes to remain undefeated in the standings.

Week 4’s game to watch for the North American League Championship Series would have to be Counter Logic Gaming vs Immortals. CLG look to claim the title of being the NA LCS champions for a second split in a row but in order to do so, they must first take down the undefeated IMT. This match up will not be an easy one for sure. Former teammates and former rivals will go head-to-head to claim dominance and bragging rights.

Mini Rivalries

IMT’s starting mid-laner Eugene “Pobelter” Park was part of CLG when they were able to claim first place during the 2015 NA LCS Summer Split. Following their appearance at Worlds, Pobelter was benched in order to give way to CLG’s other mid-laner JayHyeon “Huhi” Choi, who patiently waited on the bench for his turn to shine. After the news broke out, Pobelter ultimately departed from CLG in hopes of finding another team that would allow him to play.

Not only does Pobelter consider CLG as a rival, but Jason “WildTurtle” Tran does as well. Previously playing for Team SoloMid, WildTurtle became a part of the longtime rivalry bestowed between TSM and CLG. TSM lost against CLG during last split’s finals, giving up their once held crown and title to their rivals. Now it is time for WildTurtle to redeem himself and make sure that IMT can remain undefeated.

What’s At Stake

If CLG are able to win against IMT this weekend, it may cause IMT to lose momentum. IMT’s top-laner and jungler SeungHun “Huni” Heo and EuiJin “Reignover” Kim have currently won 24 games consecutively during the regular season. If they were to lose against CLG, it would definitely ruin their confidence. On the other hand, if IMT beat CLG, it’ll prove to everyone that their 6-0 winning streak as a team was not just a fluke.

Conclusion

Because IMT have already defeated NRG eSports, CLG would be the next best team to attempt to dethrone IMT from first place. CLG has had more experience playing as a team overall, but that might not be enough to stop IMT from dominating the NA scene. Who do you think will win? Let us know down below!
