The North American Representives for the Intel Masters Extreme Cologne have been chosen. Cloud9 and Team Liquid have won the fan vote and earned a spot at this years IEM Cologne.
Cloud9 and Team Liquid have both been voted in as the next teams to represent NA at an international IEM event. Who represents NA was up to fans to vote on in which C9 secured a resounding 71% with Liquid Heading up Second with a 21% total.
Cloud9's IEM History
This is C9's third IEM event. Having won IEM San Jose back in 2014 earning them the birth into IEM Katowice, where they had a rather poor showing. C9 hopes to redeem themselves at this year's IEM Cologne. This will be the first time we see how C9's new roster of Jungler YunJae "Rush" Lee and Support Michael "BunnyFuFuu" Kurylo perform with the rest of the team.
First time Competitors
IEM Cologne is Liquid's first ever IEM event. They looked strong all during the summer split with a slight dip in towards the end of the season. Their spot at the World Championship looked assured until C9 made the miracle gauntlet run and beat them at the end of it 3-1. They are now looking to redeem themselves and come out with a strong showing. With the current news of Top laner Diego "Quas" Ruiz being suspended though, they have only a month to find a replacement and work on the chemistry of the squad.

IEM Cologne takes place December 18th through the 20th with 6 international teams participating. With Qiao Gu being the only other confirmed team, be sure to keep your eye out as more IEM news releases.
