Team Liquid suspends Quas

Despite the upcoming season coming ever closer, Team Liquid makes the decision to suspend their veteran Top Laner.

With an official statement made on the team's website, Diego "Quas" Ruiz has been suspended indefinitely from Team Liquid. Citing an unspecified "incident" that occurred at the team's headquarters as reason for the suspension, Team Liquid's owner Steve "LiQuiD112" Arhancet was also stated to be currently in contact with Quas and his family as towards making a decision for future steps. No details as towards the incident were mentioned as Team Liquid has expressed a desire to protect the privacy of Quas.

Quas has been with Team Liquid since October of 2013 when the team was then known as Team Curse. Along with jungler Christian "IWillDominate" Rivera, he was one of the few remaining members of the team from before it was absorbed and transformed into Team Liquid. Known for being a consistenly strong laner with dependable mechanical skill, Quas' departure from the team comes as a shock to everyone, especially with Team Liquid being recently voted into IEM Cologne.

Judging from the language used in the statement he made in the official announcement, it remains unclear whether Quas will even continue to play League of Legends professionally. With this suspension, Team Liquid now has to scramble to find a suitable replacement in a dwindling market of free agent Top Laners, especially domestic ones as both of the team's import slots are currently filled by Chae "Piglet" Gwang-jin and Kim "FeniX" Jae-hun. And with increased competition developing within the NA LCS this offseason, Team Liquid's prospects for success this coming season have suddenly become incredibly cloudy.
