After a news blowout reporting that GwangJin “Piglet” Chae would be departing from Team Liquid to return to Korea, it has been confirmed by Liquid officials that his contract has been extended. Piglet will remain on Liquid.
Less than a week ago, GosuGamers wrote a related article covering news that Liquid were looking to replace support player Alex “Xpecial” Chu with former TDK support Andy “Smoothie” Ta. Earlier today, various websites wrote a news report claiming that Piglet would be leaving the roster to return to Korea to start his very own team from the ground up. It was further rumored that Liquid staff had looked to sign on former Copenhagen Wolves marksman Aleš "Freeze" Kn?žíne, who had weeks ago expressed interest in transferring over to North America. These reports now appear to be less authentic than what fans were lead on.
Team Liquid’s co-owner Steve “Liquid112” Arhancet took to social media sites Reddit and Instagram to disprove these claims. It is now confirmed that Piglet’s contract with the organization will run until November of 2016, giving him another full year of commitment to the team.
