Once upon a time in LCK: JAG vs CJE

A great man once said, "If you don't believe, why are you here?"

The same great man created team, Counter Logic Gaming. Jokes aside, however, Jin Air Greenwings had one fluctuating journey during the summer split. At one point, they defeat KOO Tigers. At another, they are defeated by Anarchy.

While we were enjoying the post-season playoffs duing our lackadaisical summer, the Greenwings were training to step up for the regionals.

One can even argue that the Greenwings added a "Chemical X," an ingredient that gave the Power Puff Girls powers, into their recipe. The "Chemical X" that the Jin Air Greenwings added was namely the salty pirate himself, Gangplank.

Gangplank is easily an example of a champion that one must know how to play around his power spikes. His strengths in the early game are not powerful until he reaches a point at which he deals in a ridiculous manner.

Even if one goes full armor to fend against the powerfu salty pirate, all those armor bonus stats don't mean anything if Ganplank builds a Last Whisperer into the critical damage heavy build.

Is playing Gangplank as easy as he looked during the game? I will say no. In fact, Gangplank is one of the harder champions to play because of the large investments Gangplank needs in order to climb up into the monstrosity that Changsuk "GBM" Lee creates. The team requires lots of patience for Gangplank to grow and flourish. Furthermore, Gangplank players will often have to go defensive core items in the last few stages of the game, meaning that catching him off guard during mid-game while away from his frontline will be a disaster for his team.

CJ Entus gave a hell of a fight after their second straight loss in the series. In fact, they pushed JAG into game 5, where we saw a blind pick game taking place. However, the disapointed fans saw the old boys go home with no chance at World's

What does this mean for the KT Rolsters? To be completely honest, it doesn't mean much. They are still the stronger team as long as they don't have to deal with the abusive Gangplank. KT, however, must have caution over GBM's flex picks. He's been showing us that he can create interesting picks in the mid-lane.

In conclusion, Jin Air Greenwings have shown us that playing with the patches and reorienting themselves were key to their victory today. They must face the Rolsters for the final ticket to World's. Thus, they must be careful. If JAG does qualify for World's, it will be the first time for the team.
