Unicorns of Love look to Gilius, H0RO and Airwaks as subs

Unicorns of Love have confirmed that Berk “Gilius” Demir will be returning to the team, replacing Kikis as the starting Jungler.

In a statement released via the team’s Facebook page, head coach and talent manager for the organization Fabian “Sheepy” Mallant had this to say, “On top of being strong player with good mechanics, Gilius knows our team very well and we trust him to give his best on the rift.” Gilius had formerly helped Unicorns of Love qualify for the European LCS through the 2014 Summer Challenger Series.

Additionally, Unicorns of Love also announced that both Cho “H0RO” Jae-hwan and Karim “Airwaks” Benghalia have signed on as substitutes behind Gilius, with the intention of bringing the strongest possible replacement into the European LCS playoffs. Both H0RO and Airwaks have LCS experience, with Airwaks leaving Copenhagen Wolves earlier this split due to internal conflict and H0RO being a former member of the now-relegated Meet Your Makers squad. While all three are likely to share time in scrims for the team as they look for the right fit, Gilius will get the nod to start in the team’s LCS matches for the final two weeks of the season. It’s no secret that generating rapport between a jungler and a team’s solo laners can take time, but with Gilius’s previous experience with the team, Unicorns of Love hope to finish the regular season strong before another potential playoff run.

Unicorns of Love face off against SK Gaming and Gambit Gaming in the upcoming week. With just a few games left before playoffs, every win matters, and two games against struggling opponents could be just what Gilius and company need to help cohesion before they potentially face off against the titans of the European LCS in the coming weeks.
