Unicorns of Love: Consistently inconsistent victories

After a stalled Week 1 in the LCS Summer Split, many expected Unicorns of Love (UOL) to come stampeding into Week 2, but once again UOL left much to be desired.

Week 2 started off with a relatively simple game for UOL versus Copenhagen Wolves (CW).  With the fan vote strongly in favour of a UOL win, many expected this to be a clean sweep for UOL, and this turned out to be the case.  By the end of the game UOL had 16 champion kills to 3 and had complete control over CW.  UOL generated more than 15k of Gold than CW in a rather short game.  Vizicsacsi pulled out the newly exposed power house of Ryze and took 5 kills, but PowerofEvil once again showed why he is a solid mid laner with 7 kills on Cassiopeia.  An Honourable mention also goes to Vardags with an impressive 11 assists on Sivir showing that as a team UOL are hard to beat.

The next game in Week 2 against Roccat proved to be far more challenging than was first expected.  During the longest game so far in the LCS Summer Split, UOL and Roccat went back and forward trading blows but Roccat commanded a lead for all but the last 10-15 minutes of the near one hour battle.  Roccat stood head and shoulders above UOL on every statistic and controled the majority of the objectives but this is where their weakness showed and UOL’s strength came to light, closing the game.  Roccat couldn’t find the chance to shut UOL down and so with time on their side UOL just broke Roccat down piece by piece until eventually the winning window opened and UOL did want they do best and destroyed the nexus.

With another week under their belt UOL can add two more wins to their name but certainly have a lot to learn from both.  If this is how UOL are planning to play for the rest of the split then they are in trouble, but let’s hope not.  Even Kikkis had to acknowledge that Roccat played well and he could have done better:
