After a five-year career, legendary jungler Brandon “SaintVicious” DiMarco will put professional League of Legends behind.

“I think I've played my last competitive match ever last split and think I will be retiring for good,” writes DiMarco in a tweet from last night. The League of Legends veteran finished top 6 in the LCS Spring playoffs after finishing fifth in the regular season with his team Gravity Gaming.

Between 2011 and now, SaintVicious’ career has travelled through some of the best teams in North America. Starting with Team Solomid in January and moving to CLG a month later, SaintVicious had already played for two of the hallmarks of NA league. CLG became the team where SV would gather most success with, winning the IEM Season VI Cologne, MLG Raleigh 2011 and the national ESL Premier League Season 2, and also plscing second in IEM VI Guangzhou.

A year later, SaintVicious moved to Curse Gaming to become their primary shot-caller and starting jungler for the LCS but in October 2013 he chose to step down from active playing and take on a coaching and analyst position within the team. SV’s competitive sabbatical lasted until July of the next year, when the veteran formed Curse Academy, later rebranded to Gravity Gaming. Reunited with his former Curse team-mate and AD carry David “Cop” Roberson, SaintVicious managed to get his new team into the playoffs, where they’d lost to Team Impulse 1-3, ending their run.

SaintVicious’ retirement leaves Gravity in search for a new jungler and someone who can fill the big void left by the departure of DiMarco.
