Mata fined by ViCi Gaming for troll pick

The Chinese team gives a straight up answer to the question what happens when you don't take competition seriously.

When the changes to the Korean scene happened last year, Se-Hyeong "Mata" Cho was one of the many Koreans that took part of the great exile, setting sails for other regions. Alongside his former Samsung White partner In-Kyo "DanDy" Choi, Mata signed a contract with ViCi Gaming in November to play in the Chinese LPL and pursue new opportunities there.

Instead of crushing the competition by having two of the Season 4 world champions, however, ViCi Gaming faced a horrendous start in the LPL. They had to wait until the end of week two to score their first win and are currently fifth in the standings with 4-8-3, two wins behind LGD Gaming.

If the normal behavior in these situations is team-work towards strenghtening the roster, Mata went the other way. In a Bo5 series against Invictus Gaming in the Demacia Cup, the star support acted as if the match didn't mean anything, displaying an idle behavior during two of the games and even locking Jayce support in the last one. It took one hour and fifteen minutes for IG to win the entire series.

As a result, Vici Gaming will be slapping a 50,000 CNY or $8,000 fine on Mata as he "did not fulfill the basic duties and show due respect." ACE, the governing body of local competitive LoL, is also said to be looking into the issue.
