Riot releases group draw procedure

In response to concerns about the 2014 World Championships groups being drawn privately without the involvement of third party spectators, Riot has released their group draw procedure to increase transparency.

In response to concerns voiced by Christopher "MonteCristo" Mykles about a private group draw, Riot Games revealed more details about the procedure. The first bit of information Riot unveiled is that the group draw has already been completed as of August 14 to allow Riot to begin arranging travel plans for the teams. They also revealed that the drawing was filmed, and the tape will be made public once all regional qualifying games are complete.

Riot then went on to detail the overall procedure in greater length. Groups that will compete in the same country (Singapore or Taiwan) were drawn side-by-side. Seeds were sorted into the groups from left to right. The envelopes were labeled based on qualifying tournament.

This transparency was received warmly by MonteCristo, who celebrated Riot's decision to release the video recording of the draw.

Questions linger about the video itself, but for the most part, Riot's attempt to increase transparency has been welcomed by the community.
