NA LCS Week 8 Day 2 Recap

Counter Logic Gaming and LMQ separate from the pack to share the top spot in week 8.

Crs vs EG

Curse started the game slow, avoiding confrontation until IWillDominate grabbed a Dragon steal at 19 minutes. Five minutes later, Curse takes a favorable engage, before going on a roam spree through EG's jungle. The Evil Geniuses rally, however, taking map pressure off of a nonconfrontational Curse. They eventaully take an ace fight (including an Altec Quadakill) and turn onto Baron. After that, it's a slow march to an EG win.

DIG vs CLG

Dig opened the game aggresively, lane-swapping and sending Kiwikid to roam mid for a 4 minute first blood onto Link. They followed up with a 4 man top gank in which Seraph nearly got away, but secured a second kill for Dig. Counter Logic Gaming responded with dragon control and bot lane dominance (Doublelift had 4 kills at 15 minutes). From there, the game stabilized, until CLG forced the issue mid after a 23 minute Baron. Imaqtpie attempted to side push bot lane while his team stalled, and managed to take down several turrets before escaping, but CLG muscled through the Dignitas base for a 28 minute win.

C9 vs TSM

TSM set their early sights on Balls, resulting in a pair of successful kills onto the C9 top laner. After an otherwise quiet early game, TSM takes apprently risky 5v5s, repeatedly coming out ahead. Hai split pushes the bot lane while his team stalls out in the mid, forcing Dyrus to teleport back to base. C9 nevertheless gets caught, giving a quadrakill to Wildturtle's Tristana. After losing 2 inhibitors and fending off a third attempt, Cloud 9 catches Wildturtle on the retreat, and chase the rest of TSM back to their base. However, with super minions pushing in 2 lanes, C9 is quickly overwhelmed when TSM rushes their base.

CoL vs LMQ

LMQ take the signature first move, securing first blood on a series of ganks Prolly's Kassadin manages to get ahead on scattered engagements, rushing his Zhonya's Hourglass to stay alive longer. LMQ fails a collapse onto Westrice on the backside of the baron pit, resulting in a brilliant counterplay from Complexity, who take 4 kills and Baron. After taking a 6-3 tower advantage, CoL tries to starve LMQ out of gold, but a few missteps prove their undoing. Westrice is caught in the midlane, and LMQ rally, shoving through the midlane after a messy engage, and taking down the nexus.
