Riot Games have announced the finals hosting venue and the circuit stops for 2014 World Championship, previously revealed to be held in South Korea.
While the Sangham Stadium is the final destination, there are several steps along the way for the journey that is Worlds. The group stages will be held in Taipei and Singapore. Once the playoffs begin, the tournament will move to South Korea, starting in Busan for the quarter-finals.
The group stage will feature sixteen teams consisting of the top three from North America, Europe, Korea, and China, which will be joined by two teams from Taiwan and Southeast Asia. Two more wildcard winners from other regions will also be selected to fight on the global battlefield.
A total of four groups will house the sixteen participants with the top two teams from each group moving on to the quarter finals. At the end of the elimination bracket, the best two teams will face off in the Sangham stadium in Seoul, where the FIFA 2002 World Cup was hosted, to fight for the Summoner's Cup.
EDIT - In a Reddit discussion thread, Rioters have confirmed that the playoffs will be in a best-of-5 format for the entirety of the bracket.
