In a convincing 3-1 victory following a 0-8 slump a few weeks back by FNATIC, the team has really picked up their focus and has proven they deserve to be champions in the decisive 4-game set against SK Gaming.

FNC vs. SK

Game 1 of the grand finals would not disappoint.  Tons of action commenced and Fnatic were able to get two kills immediately, much to SK Gaming's demise.  With an early lane swap, Fnatic put early jungle kill pressure onto the duo of nRated and Yellowstar.  As a result, nRated was the target of abuse and suffered several deaths on his squishy Sona early.

Fnatic did a good job at utilizing that early advantage and SK Gaming had no opportunities to stall.  Fnatic had complete objective control and held all 5 dragons and 3 dragons, which was enough for them to push for an early victory.

Game 2 turned out entirely opposite from game one.  Fnatic were able to get an early invade off at SK Gaming's red buff, but SK Gaming's advantage from level one was much better as they acquired a 3-0 lead.  CandyPanda had the opportunity to shine here and received lots of early feed and freefarm.  To help alleviate pressure, xPeke purchased a very early homeguard to deal with SK Gaming's split push.

SK Gaming were in the lead for nearly the entire game up until an unfortunate teamfight at 29 minutes which would leave them in shambles. After Rekkles had acquired a triple kill at that point, it was easy for Fnatic to close out and take an unlikely game 2 victory.

Game 3 showed that SK Gaming did not want to go down without a fight.  As usual, a lane swap took place and this time, Fnatic had shown that they had the early grasp on the game.  SK Gaming were able to catch back up and commit to superior rotations.  While Fnatic had a few misplays of their own, this game gave us a taste of the SK Gaming that had heralded themselves as the spring groups champion, and righfully so.  SK Gaming were able to force a fourth game after their victory here.

The fourth and final game would start off very slowly with no teams wanting to make any mistakes and throw the set at game point.  Not many fights commenced for the first 15 minutes and Fnatic's poking did a good job at keeping SK Gaming at bay. Things continued to be calm throughout most of the game with teams taking shots against one another.

Things would look dicey and hopeless for SK Gaming as Fnatic would find a nearly perfect fight that grabbed them both the inhibitor and baron. After that it, was only a matter of time before Fnatic was knocking SK Gaming's door, forcing the underdog team to surrender a 1-3 to defeat to Fnatic, the new champions of the EU LCS.
