Dan Dinh to coach Cloud 9

Confirmed on the League of Legends official esports website, Cloud 9 has announced that Dan “DanDinh” Dinh will be joining the team as a coach for the upcoming LCS split.

The addition comes as part of Cloud 9 owner Jack Etienne’s plan to move the team from San Jose to Los Angeles, and it seems that he hopes that DanDinh’s presence will smooth the transition.

?In his statement, DanDinh said his duties would include sponsorship obligations, managing analysts and mentoring the talented squad. His experience in the competitive scene with TSM will certainly be useful and should help the team get settled and prepared for the upcoming LCS split, where they aim to reclaim their title as the best team in North America.

In addition, the post also came with the announcement that former analyst Alex Penn would not remain with the team in Season 4. Both Penn and Cloud 9 wished each other the best of luck, and considering the success he helped Cloud 9 achieve in Season 3, it is likely Alex Penn will be picked up by another contender shortly. This also means that Cloud 9 is looking for new analysts to replace Penn in the future.

By bringing on the experienced DanDinh and seeking out new analysts, it seems that Cloud 9, much like many other North American teams, are making steps to ensure their success in upcoming tournaments such as IEM Cologne and the LCS as they look to defend their crown atop the NA ladder.
