MYM and Alternate continue their dominance on Day 2

Grueling for the players and an absolute delight for the fans, ten games back-to-back were played on the second day. With close fights, stomps, upsets and throws everywhere, here is a recap of Day 2.

The superweek continued between the two rookies, Alternate and Lemondogs. Somehow, ForellenLord's 3K Elo Orianna managed to land in his hands, and while Tabzz's mid mechanics held the fort for his team, the ball partnered with Araneae's surprise Hecarim was too much damage and crowd control for Lemondogs to handle.

Gambit Gaming and Ninjas in Pajamas, both coming off 0-2 from yesterday, square off to grab their first victory. Though Bjergsen and the boys had a decent lead at the start, it was Alex Ich's AP Yi and d4rker proving himself to his fellow Russians that put the Ninjas to sleep through precise teamfighting and objective control.

Fnatic seemed blazing hot as they faced off a rather lukewarm Evil Geniuses. Up to this point, Jayce had been banned again and again. When Froggen got hold of him, he showed the viewers why. The immense burst potential from the debonair was too much, even with Fnatic's poke comp. Snoopeh's Sejuani and Wickd's Zac complimented their mid laner with strong crowd control, allowing Froggen with flatten anybody that came his way.

Meet Your Makers looked to be on a roll and they didn't plan to stop with their match against Lemondogs. However, with tons of crowd control and combo potential from both teams, it ended up being an intense match where one small mistake could mean the end of the game. In the end, it was the Polish who managed to get that game-winning play and continued on their winning streak.

Ocelote and Araneae, former teammates, finally got the chance to fight each other in the Rift. While SK attempted to go  for a wombo combo with Malphite, Kennen, and Sona, Alternate had the perfect answer. From kicks to troll pools, stun cards to hooks, SK only had few opportunities to pull off their set up. Topping that off was Creaton's Ezreal, who was literally unkillable as he kited his opponents the whole game, staying away from the crowd control.

With a decisive win in the previous game, Evil Geniuses went up against Lemondogs, who had a rather disappointing last match. Lemondogs shot out of the with Tabzz scoring a double kill even before the first minion wave hit, and they used that as momentum to get a decisive lead. This is Evil Geniuses though, the kings of stalling. Froggen and crew miraculously managed to get even after such a huge deficit. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough as the Game of Throws arrived upon two teams, with Lemondogs being slightly more fortunate.

Desperate for a win, Ninjas in Pyjamas planned to go all out with a dive-heavy team comp against a seemingly unstoppable Alternate. The unkillable Creaton and Kerp with his trackball had other plans, though. NiP just can't seem to get it together and just got pelted with Mystic Shots and Shock Blasts, with Jree, Araneae, and ForellenLord peeling perfectly.

Now with a win, the Russian overlords planned to keep the ball rolling, while Ocelote and his men looked to find a silver bullet. Though they let Alex Ich get his murderbug, Kev1n's Zed proved to be more than a match as he powerleveled and assassinated his way to an early 18, way ahead of anyone else. Sadly, SK's late game indecisiveness  saw them lose their massive advantage as their star top laner and company kept getting caught out of position, which dealt to them another heartbreaking loss.

Together with Alternate, Meet Your Makers are on an undefeated rampage and MYM faced their toughest opponents this week: the Spring Champions. Still fired up, even with the loss versus EG, xPeke and company were out to shift the momentum back in their favor. The pick comp of MYM didn't let them though, as they made sure not to group up and fall victim to the Zac-Orianna Ball Delivery System.

To cap off this day, Gambit Gaming faced off against Lemondogs, who managed to scrape a victory over Evil Geniuses and planned to end superweek with a positive standing. With a surprise Orianna from Alex Ich and d4rker showing a high level of skill with Zyra, it was the Russian squad that secured a 3-2 standing and a decent start to the LCS.
