The second day of superweek started with Curse Gaming vs the rookies, Velocity e-sports. After a great showing on day 1 against CLG, Velocity was hoping that they could perform just as well against Curse. The game started out rather normally until near the 1:40 mark when CRS Cop decided to try to check the blue on Velocity's side. Cop was caught out and narrowly escaped from giving first blood to Vileroze, only burning away his flash. The game then settled down to become a straight farming game.
Velocity held control of the game mostly through control of the lanes and global gold, however that soon changed heavily as Voyboy's Tryndamere started to join in the teamfights. Voyboy's killer instincts kicked in starting from the first teamfight and was rewarded with a triple kill. There wasn't much that Velocity could do to hold off Curse, as they slowly started to gain tower kills and global objectives. With Baron Nashor secured under Curses belt, Velocity just could not handle the push that was coming.
CLG vs Dig, old rivals at it once again. This time however, it would go down as the longest game in LCS history lasting an impressive 71 minute and 15 seconds. This back and forth game started with CLG playing silly, when Chauster was caught out before minions had even spawned. The first blood advantage went to Kiwikid and he showcased that advantage brilliantly in lane doubling Nientonsoh's CS. CLG was forced to play passively with Dignitas nonstop heavy aggression, this gave Dignitas an advantage as they minimized CLG's farm under tower and global gold control. Dignitas continued to push this advantage for the first 18 minutes, until CLG finally had enough and took action.
18:30 CLG would initiate a fight near dragon and go 2 for 2, which would give Dignitas another chance to dragon. However Nientonsoh put an end to that thought as he dived into the 3 members of Dignitas 1v3 at dragon forcing them to retreat. CLG looked like an entirely different team soon afterwards winning the next 3 team fights relatively easily. As Chauster consistantly pushed members of Dig off of Doublelift, L1nK just sat on top of Dignitas to obliterate them giving CLG an easy cleanup each time.
After an up and down 40 minutes for both teams, Dignitas goes for the baron. CLG saw it coming and countered it perfectly as Jiji managed to steal the baron from Dignitas, while L1nK and Doublelift destroyed members of the opposing team going 3 for 3. As time continued to move on teamfights were shifting towards the middle and no team held any true advantage. 62 minutes in CLG manages to ace Dignitas in exchange for the death of Doublelift. Both teams had over 100k gold and most of the players on both teams had a 6 item build.
Game 3 was between the undefeated Cloud 9 and Curse Gaming. Action started as soon as the game started as Edward hooked LemonNation into the tribush from baron pit before the first minute even ended. Edward's Blitzcrank reign didn't just end there as he headed down bot to help pick up another 2 kills, while Voyboy dived under tower for a kill of his own. Curse was completely dominating early game as they were up 5 to 1 in kills and had a dragon under their belt as well. C9 however didn't plan on losing on such a short win streak as they started turning the game around at 20 minutes killing 4 for 2 near the baron pit. It was at that point that C9 realized that they were stronger and managed to take baron. At 33 minutes in C9 with baron buff just decide that they had enough of this game and demolished Curse under their own mid inhibitor tower. With only CRS Edward up, C9 just stormed into the base and burned the nexus to the ground.
