The Group Stages of 2018's Mid-Season Invitational will not feature any teams from unusual regions, after EVOS Esports disposed of Turkey's BAU SuperMassive and the pride of the CIS region, Gambit Esports, fell to the Flash Wolves, who lived up to their record of being perennial contenders on the international stage.
The first qualifier saw SuperMassive go up against EVOS, the representatives from Vietnam, with most analysts giving the edge to the Turkish side before the match, after a strong Group Stage saw them finish 5-1.
