Gambit Academy coach alleged to have physically assaulted player

Former Gambit Academy members allege that Rustam "TsaGa" Tsagaev assaulted Egor "FuRy" Morin.

Last night KUNGAR, formerly known as Gambit Academy, issued a post on their VK.com page where a member of the team explained the reasoning behind four members leaving the organisation. The below is a translated post from a VK.com account registered to Team KUNGAR, and contains details regarding the team's former Coach, Rustam 'TsaGa' Tsagolov and his conduct. The post alleges that TsaGa insulted members of the roster, assaulted Egor 'FuRy' Morin and bullied the team into giving up an ESEA Main slot. Audio clips of conversations were also attached in the post, however they are in Russian.

Good day. We’re fed up of being quiet and we understand that it’s not ideal taking this dispute to the public, however the situation was a bit too much. I’ll start off with explaining why four players (neathz, spyn, kkt, Elian) left Gambit Academy.

The reason is rather simple – the coach did not meet our requirements. All of the analysis provided by TsaGa was primitive and basic and strategising was based around said analytics without justification or explanation regarding their execution. Additionally TsaGa did not explain the very basic aspects of the game, ones crucial for creating a general gameplay style.

Following the aforementioned, our coach started directly insulting us during our boot camp. Three members of the team (kkt, myself and malik) were standing in the room. TsaGa entered the room, starting his speech with insults, reproaches and general inadequacy. Kkt started an argument with an enraged TsaGa, who in turn demonstrated with his posture that he was capable of hitting the player. To avoid a physical confrontation we decided to leave the room.

Prior to important official matches our coach said things on the lines of “If you lose a single map to these noobs, you can fuck off.”

To conclude, we deduced that TsaGa demonstrated the following traits:

1. Inadequacy
2. A bad psychologist  and strategist
3. A bad analyst and a person that only paints an image of a hard-working individual
4. An imbalanced human being that, by definition, cannot be a mentor/coach.

These were the reasons behind us leaving the team.

Following this whole malarkey everything seemed to be ok and in the end TsaGa managed to put together a new roster, however two of our members forgot to logout from their VK.com (Russian Facebook equivalent) accounts during the boot camp. TsaGa and malik sat around reading our chats which seemed harmless at the time, since we were so “inconsiderate” towards TsaGa. This, however, could not have been further from reality, as the two managed to deceive Egor "FuRy" Morin into visiting the boot camp. When he arrived they asked him to answer for his words, and after a brief conversation TsaGa proceeded to physically assault Egor "FuRy" Morin, busting his lip and dropping him on the floor. All of the new roster members (spiker, FL1T, Kissinho, malik, Qulon) were witnesses of this, a few of them attempted to stop the enraged coach, however most of them were indifferent.

At the end of April our roster secured second place in the ESEA CS:GO Open Russia division and subsequently a placement at ESEA Main. TsaGa decided that he deserved the ESEA Main slot more than we did, despite it being the sole effort of our roster and after a few punches at "FuRy" he mentioned that if the team doesn’t transfer the slot things would only get worse. This meant that we had to either transfer it to them or refuse to play matches during ESEA Main. We simply ignored him and didn’t take things public, however things got exponentially worse.

With the help of his friend, Nikita “PIOPI” Bagritskiy, who happened to be a Tournament Administrator at UCC, he was set on ruining the tournament for us. Below are Teamspeak recordings where PIOPI stated that despite advancing to day two of the qualifiers, we were disqualified simply because. UCC’s CEO (deca) apologised for the situation and we don’t have any issues with the organisers, however we refuse to participate at the event.

Additionally I’d like to note that we attempted to contact Gambit’s CEO (Konstantin "groove" Pikiner) and report the situation to him, however all messages were ignored. It would almost seem that Gambit’s management are absolutely fine with the coach of their roster physically assaulting his players, in addition to threatening and attempting to strong-arm an ESEA Main slot.

P.S. Attached below are audio clips where the following is said:

1. How PIOPI  openly declares that he’s removing us from the tournament without good reason
2. How TsaGa acts and how he insults and threatens players

*The above text is a direct translation of a post (in Russian) from KUNGAR's wall on VK.com. Translation provided by Aleksei "Aleksei.L" Lushnikov. After interpreting the audio clips, I came to the conclusion that indeed they do confirm what was outlined in the post.
