The Vietnamese stopped the Filipinos from taking back-to-back championships after their dominance in Cup #4.
Once again, GosuCup SEA was packed to bursting-point with established champions of the scene, but much to experts’ surprise, it was the up-and-comers that took the cash and HCT points. While DemonHunter had an arguably easier road to the grand finals, his opponent there WinterChill had to go through multiple high-profile names, including former champion Taeng2, Cup #4 fourth place finisher Caracute and Malaysia’s veteran Kanana,i before he could contend for the lion’s share of the $500 prize pool. Ultimately, after a nail-biting five-game series, DemonHunter prevailed in a Paladin versus Warlock face-off, taking $300 and 3 HCT points.
GosuCup SEA will take a break this coming weekend to make space for the SEA Majors Singapore, happening April 8-10. Make sure to check it out and follow the coverage on the dedicated GosuGamers coverage hub here.
