Night Inside Jungler, Ilya «Kreox» Grom have told us about first victories and expectations from LoL Battle Arena.
- The season started not too good for you – several losses in a row. What are the reasons for that?
- Most likely the first losses were due to bad preparation and problems inside the squad. We trained too little and had a different stack of players on bot lane, where the players, midly speaking, didn't like each other too much.
- Was the victory over Tornado Rox a breath of fresh air for you?
- The victory over Tornado Rox has given us hope to continue playing in LBA. To stay in the tournament and advance to play-offs we needed to win all the remaining games..
- In your match against Hard Random you were the underdogs, however, you managed to win it. What was the secret of that victory?
- We had faced Hard Random before and therefore we knew how they would play. In the second game we decided to play super cheesy, thinking that HR would be playing a slow game and waiting for their powerspikes. We did it and succeeded at starting fights and winning them. In game 3 we played the same game as Hard Random did: waited for powerspikes and won the deciding 5v5 fight.
- mousesports have also fallen victims to you. Maybe you should conquer LCS?
- All the Russian teams, including us, have still much to learn to reach the LCS level. But I think, that CIS is gaining skill and soon, I hope, we will see more strong Russian teams who will be able to fight back against European/Turkish teams.
- Who is responsible for preparations for matches and for in-game strategy?
- Mostly it's me and Zak who come up with strategies, and also our support Bonjour tells us where and how we can do better.
- Nomanz and Bonjour are playing incredibly well together, do you pay extra attention to that unit?
- Bonjour and Ekd are indeed incredible, they have good understanding and mechanical skill. I think if we will train further like this, they will be one of the strongest bot lane duo in CIS.
- How much time do you spend on practice and game analysis?
- Every one of our players spends 6+ hours practicing, and after that we play Team Ranked / Scrims for 5+ hours a day. We do the analysis in between the matches.
- The teams who have advanced to play-offs have not been decided yet. Who would you like to face in the semi-finals?
- Right now we are ready to face any team in this tournament, but the perfect setup would be the following: NiN against Hard Random in the final. This Bo5 will probably be the most epic and fierce match in this tournament, if it happens to be.
- Do you think about the future? Or the only thing that bothers you is the next match?
- We are preparing for any situation, but right now our goal is to win LBA and to prove everyone that Russia is not a weak region.
- Let's imagine you've won LBA. What are you going to do?
- We will prepare for StarSeries which will take place in spring, and bring joy to the viewers and fans with our games at upcoming tournaments.
