WC3L: 4Kings out in the cold

Hell has just frozen over; 4Kings loses to A.S Teamplay.IT.

With Four Kings being the 92% overdog in our gosubet, no one would've ever thought that A.S Teamplay.IT would come out the victor in this battle. Except, of course, the 8% of our betters. A.S Teamplay.IT has provided results as expected. None the more, none the less. A talented set of players known to deliver, but when facing the reigning champions, the team that managed to beat even WE whom by many is considered the worlds strongest team on paper today, no one really expected such a display of domination.

Play.IT played it well.

ToD started it all off by providing his team with a 1-0 advantage, beating the Korean Night Elf player Mamoru.Zeus, meanwhile having trouble vs Korean Undead Spider, later resulting in a 0-2 loss for our Croatian Night Elf.

Skimming through the results, one can't help but noticing FoV's name in regular and XyLigan's name bolded. 1-2 in favor of the rising Russian star. Despite previous victories, such as going 2-0 vs ToD in the ladder season 3 finals, XyLigan was easily counted out. FoV is after all one of, if not THE best Undead player in the world at the moment.

2-1 in favor to A.S Teamplay.IT. Next out were the 2on2 battles where the next-to-unbeatable combo Grubby-ToD had been replaced by FuRy and Zeus. Facing Abver and XyLigan posed to be a difficult task for FuRy and Zeus who lost 0-2 even after attempting the dreaded Crypt Fiend/Huntress combination. With the battle already decided FuRy gives it a shot to at least even the score a bit by playing his games vs Abver. After going 1-1, Abver chose to play Orc on Lost Temple, this proved to be too much for FuRy to handle, who lost the game.

A giant gone astray?

30 minutes before the games began the lineup was posted on WC3L. The first reaction of many was "Whatever did happen to Grubby?" as he was not set to play. Grubby, with his fearsome control and perception of the game seldom loses even one map when it counts. Could he have fallen ill? Some urgent matter to attend to? Many has juggled with the idea that Grubby was not in the lineup simply to let other members show what they were made of. Perhaps to show that 4K is not all centered around the Dutch player.
