He is considered by many the best player in the world, and certainly has the achievements to back it up. He has won it all – except WEG. He and Spirit_Moon are constantly discussed about which is the number one. There are also false rumours going on that Grubby were to be afraid of the Korean Night Elf player. In an open-hearted and interview with bunny, Grubby answers tons of questions with massively long and informative answers. If you were to read one interview this year, this is the one.

It starts off with the 'Grubby profile' where we get to know a bunch of tasty information. His favourite TV show is the Texas cowboy Dr. Phil, favourite movie is Sin City and that he likes snowboarding. A bit further down, his ‘WC3 favourites’ comes up, and there he mentions the Swede MaDFroG as his favourite opponent, and not too surprising - 4K-ToD as his favourite partner. He digs the Night Elf hero Warden the most, but his favourite unit is the Witch Doctor.

Introduction by KidArctica

As an introduction, the well-known Norwegian KidArctica has composed a text on the Dutch Orc. She brings up Grubby trivia such as his favourite bread type, his former StarCraft career (?) and his clan history from Spirit Warriors to the know eSport Team of the Year - The Four Kings. She also mention psychology - which plays an important part in gaming. KidArctica herself did together with Grubby and a couple of research scientists an article on gaming and psychology, which can be read » here. Most important of all, she asks the question; ”What is it that has driven him to this extreme point where he can savour a position among the very best of the game and still keep going, reaching for new tournaments and new goals?” This she answers broadly, and with the hope of getting it answered a bit more in-depth as the interview with Grubby begins.

3000 words about game-play

Even if a high number of interviews (ten mentioned in the interview) with Grubby are already out there, it is still as interesting hearing on what the top Orc player has to say about the game. Around 3000 words in the interview are strictly about gameplay, balance, imbalance, maps, race differences and everything you wanted to know what Grubby thought. One fine example is the quote to the right, which is basically Grubby's general idea on what an Orc versus Orc game really is.

The interview goes on with a bit more talk about StarCraft vs. WarCraft 3, who I personally enjoy since I am a huge fan of both games. Grubby means that all these discussions on what game is the better is simply a matter of skill. "I've found that the disagreements mostly spawn from different ways to measure skill." Grubby says.

Free assosciation games, FAQ and fan Q's

bunny then moves on by doing a free association game where Grubby were to write his initial thoughts on whatever word bunny came up with. A nice one was Korea - "Adventure, unforgettable experience, getting to know good friends even better.". Further down in the interview, Grubby answers questions from the fans, and made-up questions that Grubby asks himself. There the question about Moon comes up. And he likes to point out that he is not afraid of Moon at all.
