A big step towards further professionalism in the e-sports scene has been taken by the Dutch gaming community. Yesterday, a new e-sports association was revealed that goes by the name of De Nederlandse Electronic Sport Bond.
The association has already begun their work with trying to get e-sports accepted as a official sport by the Dutch Sports Association and the Dutch Olympic Committee. Currently, they are supported by Gameparty (LAN organizer) and Best of Benelux (tournament organizer) two of the largest e-sports organizations in the Netherlands today, but are still looking for more partners in their work.
The chairman of this project, Jasper Schoo, has released a list of goals that De Nederlandse Electronic Sport Bond will try to achieve. The list is translated by

b. Look after the common interest of the members.
c. Work together with organisations in and outside of the Netherlands in order to improve the goals that are set.
d. Cooperate with, or help organise and improve competitions.
e. Organise championships.
f. Publishing one or more Electronic Sports magazines and other publications.
g. Help promoting esports.
h. Promote founding of Electronic Sports clubs.
i. Organise or help organise workshops and education.
j. Using all other legal goals that can improve the goal.
k. Improve the level of the sport and its presentation to the outside world.
