So im new to HoN, i downloaded it last night and i have been watching videos for a week maybe? (used to play DotA) but im not really satisfied with the things happening in dota atm...
so i was searching for good heros to start with and my friend (who plays HoN) told me that there is a Pudge in HoN - Devourer? and pudge was my favorite hero in dota and i was good with him so im gonna ´start with him.. is he free? or do i haft to pay something?
another thing is that my second, third and fourth favorite hero is Shadow fíend, Pandaren Brewmaster and Tiny i think i saw panda in the hero list but is there a Shadow Fiend?
I would be thankful if you guys could give me some help..

Just wait for Dota2 since HoN will fade away pretty soon, no point buying it.

The closest hero to being Panderan Brewmaster in HoN is probably Pandamonium... because both are pandas but their skills are totally diferent.

Leaving aside all the useless flaming people throw at S2,the game itself is pretty nice and decent. Graphic wise it`s superior to Dota1 (doh) and probably at the same level with dota2 (since dota2 tends to have graphics more LoL like).

The player base, though,is another issue. I strongly recommend you play for fun and not try to reach high peaks and levels because you`ll be deeply offended by what you`ll find there. Flamers...leavers (yes, since now the game is f2p everybody gets another free account and doesnt give a shit if the leave ratio is 100%)...griefers...the works...but hey,the same thing you find in any community,right?...take a look at dota`s current one...same shit anywhere.

As a free account you have some limitations (but i guess you already found that out)...you can play a limited number of heroes (the free hero pool) which changes every week...you can also play only All Pick mode (for the other game modes you have to pay with tokens whereas tokens=cash).

Hope i helped. Cheers.

#7 Don't lump Dota community with your HoN community please.

Dota community is shitty as hell. Really. Any team based game has shitty community at low levels, and then at top tier, you start knowing the good people (private leagues where there are no leavers and everyone is decent, etc.)

Best community ? Single player games. Sc2 has an awesome community at mid - midHigh tier of play (at least in my experience).

#9 Agreed. It's simply how team based public games are designed that cause all of this. One person sucks and all of a sudden 4 other people are forced to waste their time bearing the consequences.

#8 Get off your high horse. It's a genre based problem. As if the DotA community is full of saints.

@ OP This guide should help you out, although it lacks the latest heroes since it was last updated quite long ago.

Geez, I'm from DotA and I'm not saying our community is great or anything. Just look at the DotA 2 beta, its nearly a terrible community, with leavers, flamers whatever. I have never played HoN in my life, but I can say its not worse than the DotA community.
