[RULES] SteelSeries HoN World Cup: Group (9210 reads, 8 replies, 1 year ago)

Roster updates
1. HoN player account names must match the account names provided by the team captain during the tournament registration period.
2. If a team does not show up for a match within 15 minutes of the scheduled time they will forfeit unless a match admin or the opposing team extends this time period.
3. No ringers/stand-ins will be allowed for any reason whatsoever.
4. A player is bound to one team for the entire duration of the tournament. Playing or ringing for other teams will result in severe punishment for both the offending player and team.
5. Teams are allowed to add two (2) new players to their roster during the group stage as long as the player in question did not participate in the World Cup with another team. Players must be announced and added to the roster a minimum of 3 days before they are able to compete in any World Cup matches.
6. Team rosters can not exceed the amount of ten (10) players.

Tournament format
Each team plays every team in their group in a best of one (1) match.

Top two (2) teams from each group will advance to a 32-team double elimination playoff.

Tiebreaker
In case of two teams having the same number of wins, the following rule shall apply:

- The head-to-head match result is taken into account (the winner of the match between the two teams advances to the next phase)

In case of three or more teams having the same number of wins, the following rules shall apply:

1. the head-to-head match results are taken into account. The winner of the match (or matches) between the affected players advances to the next stage;

2. if the outcome of the head-to-head matches results in a further 3 way tie, a round-robin tiebreaker must be played between the affected teams. In the event that the tiebreaker results in a tie, the matches will be re-played until two (2) qualified teams can be established.

Game Settings
1. Game Mode: Banning Pick, 5v5, Forests of Caldavar.
2. Game Options: All Heroes, Tournament Rules.
3. Group stage matches are played best of one (1). Teams will designate 1 player in the game lobby to /roll 1 2. The 1st team will have the choice of pick order or side, and the 2nd team will choose the remaining option.

Bugs, Restrictions & Items
1. It is not allowed to block creeps from reaching their destination (e.g. blocking base entrance) with the help of spells such as fissure.
2. Deliberate use of sudden bugs or exploits may cause your team to be disqualified.
3. Backdooring: Players are not permitted to attack any buildings within an enemy base (defined as the elevated area protected by a barrier and within sight of the World Tree or Sacrificial Shrine) without initially first clearing out all enemy creeps beyond that point in the given lane of entry. Once the first, second, and third tier towers and barracks have been destroyed within one lane inside the base, the lane is considered pushed and Players may remain anywhere inside the base and attack as they so desire.

Any towers outside of the bases (first and second tier) may be attacked at anytime.

4. There are no item restrictions.
5. The sharing of basic regeneration items, wards, consumables, and gems is allowed.
6.The following items can not be shared indefinitely: Bottle, Lifetube, Manatube, Sustainer, Scarab, and Trinket of Restoration.

Before the Match
1. Teams in different regions should decide on a neutral host location that is suitable for the match (server with the overall lowest ping for both teams).
2. Teams in the same region should use a server located in that region.
3. If the teams cannot agree upon a neutral host location then the server will be decided by a match admin.

During the Match
1. In case of an in-game dispute, pause the game and contact a match admin.
2. In the case that both teams cannot agree on a decision or an admin is not available, the remainder of the match will be played out and the teams can submit the replay match ID for an admin review/appeal afterward.
3. No observers or referees are allowed in a match unless they are match admins, shoutcasters, or streamers.
4. Teams are allowed to remake the game if a remake vote succeeds.
5. If a player drops his team is allowed to pause for a period of 5 minutes without the opposing team unpausing (giving the appropriate player a chance to reconnect in a timely fashion).
6. If a Player is disconnected for more than 10 minutes, either team may demand that the game continue without that missing player.

After the Match
1. The game is over when:
- One team successfully passes a concede vote.
- The World Tree or Sacrificial Shrine is destroyed.

2. The match ID must be submitted by one of the teams to tournament admins at #gosugamers.hon on IRC QuakeNet and to honworldcup@gosugamers.net.

Warnings and disqualifications
A warning can be received due to any of the following reasons:- Unsportsmanlike conduct such as excessive use of ill language, griefing, racism, profanity, rude acts, vulgar acts, acts of belligerence, and disrespect of an official, streamer or caster.

- Any other reason decided by the administration team of the league.

Three warnings will result in a kick from the event.

A disqualification will be received if any of the following situations occur:
- Intentional use of any of the prohibited bugs and tricks
- Intentional use of disconnect during a game.

As an FYI these changes you are posting will be made so don't worry if they're not added immediately... having records down here as you have been making ensures that these players will be allowed in the event this weekend based on the time stamping. Oh and thanks for actually reading and following the rules, put a lot of time into these sorting some stuff out and trying to make it as clear as possible!
