Once again the ladder of StarCraft 2 will be locked and players will not get promoted or demoted. As last time, this comes prior to the beginning of a new season.
July 5th is the set date for the season 2 lock. During this time, players will not be promoted or demoted to different leagues and will only be able to change position in their current division. The bonus pool will stop growing but it can be used to influence the standing in the next season, as the games during the lockdown will still count come season 3.
The new season itself will begin on July 19th. Newcomers will go through the full placement match procedure while older players will have to play just one match and will be placed based on it and their previous match history.
