Heroes of the Dorm is back!

Blizzard announced today that their collegiate Heroes of the Dorm tournament would be back for 2016 and with the popularity growing, this event will surely be bigger and badder than last year.

Blizzard released a hype video Thursday announcing Heroes of the Dorm will be returning in 2016 and that this year would be bigger than last year. The tournament will consist of about 462 colleges, over 6000 players, and about $500,000 prize pool compared to last years $450,000.

Like last year, all five players on the champion team will receive up to three years of tuition money averaging at no more than $25,000 per year.



Registration is now open until February 18th and regional online qualifiers begin February 20th. Qualifiers will be a double elimination format, after which the top 16 teams from each region will then advance into a single elimination bracket in best of three matches to decided the top four teams.


Last year the Heroic Four was broadcasted on national television on ESPN2. This year Blizzard is teaming up with ESPN again, broadcasting all matches beginning with the Round of 64 on ESPN3, and ending with the Heroic Four on ESPN2.

Fans, casters, and players alike are already showing their excitement after the announcement was made.
