Do you have a World of Warcraft Cataclysm beta key? Do you love to PvP? Well does Blizzard have great news for you: Rated Battlegrounds are now available on all Cataclysm Beta Servers.
With the release of Cataclysm only a month away, Blizzard is doing its final testing in different aspects of the game: this past week included Rated Battlegrounds.
Rated Battlegrounds is something that a lot of PvP'ers were very excited about since the actual announcement of its' introduction a few weeks ago. Especially in PvE servers, players have had the discontent of teaming up with players in Battlegrounds that were still new to the system and game-play of PvP. With this new system, it will allow for the better ranked battleground players to play with each other while the lesser rated battleground players can compete while climbing to the top.
Here are some quick facts about the new rated battleground system:
- Rated Battlegrounds are broken down in 3 brackets: 10v10, 15v15, 25v25; these brackets rotate weekly and can be viewed in-game by activating the battleground filter using the in-game calendar
- Level 85 players must create a raid with the FULL number of players before queuing.
- Winning a rated battleground consisting of 80% of its members from a guild rewards you with guild experience. A guild banner will be displayed on the minimap if you are in a guild group.
- Epic ground mounts will be awarded to the top 0.5% rated players as well as titles as you get higher rating.
- You gain match-making rating(MMR for short) for defeating a higher rated team than you and lose more MMR for losing to a team that is lower ranked than you and your team.
Even if you don't have a Cataclysm Beta key, it is still important to know how rated battlegrounds will work if you decide to PvP when the expansion comes out in one month: Deathwing is almost here.
